Monday's Charlotte Catholic game postponed due to rain
The South Meck boys' game against Charlotte Catholic set for Monday, March 31 at 7 p.m. has been canceled. No makeup date
has been set as of yet. Weather permitting, the team will practice tomorrow at 4:00 and play Weddington at home on Wednesday
at 8:30 as part of a doubleheader with the girls.

Sabres boys fall to rival Ardrey Kell 15-3
The South Meck boys dropped a 15-3 decision at Queen City Conference rival Ardrey Kell Friday night. Sophomore middie Shea
Fadel scored twice for the Sabres and freshman attackman Tyler Semon added another goal. South next travels to Charlotte Catholic
Monday night for a 7:00 contest. Players should arrive for warm-ups by 6:00.

Boys practice Monday at 10; Butler game Tuesday at 4:30
The Sabre boys will practice at 10 a.m. Monday at South Meck and then travel to Mason Wallace Park Tuesday to play Butler
in a 4:30 contest. Please see "Game Directions" at left for directions to Mason Wallace Park, which is located across
the street from East Mecklenburg High School on Monroe Road. Players should arrive at 3:30 for warm-ups.

Boys practice cancelled; Myers Park game tomorrow at 7:00
Due to the weather, the boys' practice has been canceled for Wednesday afternoon. The Sabres will travel to Myers Park Thursday,
however, for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Mustangs. Players should wear red jerseys and arrive at Myers Park Stadium no later
than 6 p.m. See "Game Directions" link at left for details on how to get there.

Wednesday's boys game against Marvin Ridge postponed
Due to expected bad weather in the area, the Sabre boys' 7 p.m. game against Marvin Ridge set for Wednesday at South Meck
has been postponed. The contest will be rescheduled for April 22 or 23.

Osbourne High of Virginia overtakes South Meck girls 12-2
Brandy Brode's five goals helped Osbourne High of Manassas, Va., beat the Lady Sabres 12-2 Monday afternoon at South Meck
Stadium. Rebecca Davis and Becca Robertson each scored while Casey Miller had two assists for South, which now stands 1-7
on the season.

Sabre girls drop 11-1 decision at home to Marvin Ridge
The South Meck girls lost to Union County foe Marvin Ridge Friday afternoon at South Meck Stadium, falling to the Mavericks
11-1. Brooke Bentley scored for South, which fell to 1-5 on the season.

Pig Bowl set for Saturday at South Meck Stadium
The South Meck boys and girls lacrosse teams will host Charlotte Catholic in the annual Pig Bowl Saturday from 10 a.m. until
3 p.m. The girls will play at 10:00 and the boys at 12:30, with barbecue from Sharon Methodist Church's Boy Scout Troop 355
being served after both games. Tickets, which include a barbecue lunch, are $8 at the gate. Players and coaches will eat free.

Providence bests Lady Sabres 14-4
The South Meck girls dropped to 1-2 on the season with a 14-4 loss at home to Providence Thursday night. Rebecca Davis, Casey
Miller, Cherilyn Hallyburton and Nicole Nixon all had goals for the Sabres.

Weddington game rescheduled for Wednesday night at 8:30
The South Meck boys' game against Weddington that was rained out Tuesday has been rescheduled for Wednesday night at 8:30
at Optimist Park in Weddington. Players should arrive at Optimist Park by 7:45. As a result of the rescheduling, there will
be no practice after school Wednesday.

tomorrow, as there's a chance the game will be made up on Wednesday at the same time. If not, the boys will practice as usual

Girls get first win, beat Providence Day 8-3
The South Meck girls gave Beth Williams her first victory as the new coach of the Sabres Monday with an 8-3 win over Providence
Day at home. Brooke Bentley, Cherilyn Hallyburton and Kristen Reeder each scored two goals and Bo Sadow had a goal and an
assist as South evened its record at 1-1 on the season. Lauren Bradley added a goal and Katie Holland an assist for the Sabres,
who next play Providence High at 5 p.m. Thursday in South Meck Stadium.

Sabre girls lose season-opening heartbreaker in OT
The Lady Sabres dropped a 9-8 decision in overtime to rival Ardrey Kell Friday night in the season opener for both teams at
South Meck Stadium. Casey Miller scored three goals to lead South, while Cherilyn Hallyburton scored twice and Kristen Reeder
had three assists. Rebecca Davis, Brooke Bentley and Nicole Nixon also had goals. South plays again at home Monday at 4:30
p.m. against Providence Day. The Lady Sabres will also host Providence High on Thursday at 5 p.m.
